This was an excellent read. I am a huge fan of books with heroines who know how to kick some butt. Aurora did not dissappoint! Aurora and Cyrus were two people whose attraction to each other was undeniable. There were so many reasons why the shouldn't or couldn't be together but in the end they couldnt resist each other. I was a little apprehensive about getting this book, because it said book 1 and hate waiting for the next book in a series to come out. Fortunately this turned out to be a stand alone book that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend this book!Product details

First novel I've read by this author. I enjoyed it immensely. I found myself not wanting to put it down. It's fast paced,page turning,well written and all around good love story.
Simply superb!!! This is my second book by this author and my first historical novel. The writing is so detail that you feel you are in the room with the characters and when they are in the arena fighting for their lives you are standing with them holding your breath. This was so epic. The characters were flushed out and compelling. I loved it can't wait to read her next book.
Good book. Alot of editorial mistakes but overall a good read. I didn't waste my money. I would read another book by this author.
It was nice to get caught up in a story from way back in the day featuring a strong kick a__ female character. There is romance, gladiators fighting and a secret society doing good.
I really enjoy this book. It was a good gladiator love story and I especially like the mystery of you never knew a person true identity (king's wife) that's an excellent twist.
If you enjoy reading about a strong female character and an equally strong male set in a different era, each with their own agenda but can’t fight their attraction but know it will only make matters worse if they do come together, you will enjoy their journey.
The love story of Aurora and Cyrus was simply beautiful. Despite many obstacles their love was so deep and intense I felt it to my core. There was action, drama, wit and sadness. This would have been a five star book but the formatting was AWFUL with my . There were extra blank pages throughout the book which made it appear longer than it really was. This author is a great writer and wonderful storyteller though. Can't wait to read more by Ms Aidan.
